Only a sound Guy

So .. the last few years i have been on and off again trying to learn a instrument. I just don't get it. Its like i have no rythem or the rythem in my head isn't connecting so nicely with my hands and my feet. I have lost all motivation in playing an instrument. I really enjoy music i wish i could jam and just play along some times. But for now i will just stay in the sound booth. And just maybe one day i will be able to figure out how to play.

I only I could teach...I can try all ya like man, but really, i don't know alot. However, I am down for trying to transfer thoughts and crap whenever.

And all bands need a sound guy. To turn down the suck :P

Hey man, just a sound guy?
Sound guys are pretty darn important, and like Werner said, to turn down the suck, but also to turn up the great!(I know that is really bad English, but you see what I'm doing with it!)
I can't really play any instrument, except the flute when I was younger. But I LOVE music, just listening to it, and dancing of course!
Maybe one day you can pick up a guitar and learn to play, and not "just" be a sound guy. But for now, you're a really good sound guy!!!

Ried speaks rightly.

It's unfortunate/strange how many musicians don't run a board. A board is like playing an instrument in some respect, we just don't give the soundman as much credit. You have my respect though bethoven.

It's shameful. You teach me everything I know when it comes to hack... and when it comes to guitar...
Give me kick start man... I have to earn my coffee.

Don't give up man...you had some good progress going on the gee-tar there. Not that there's anything wrong with sound guying...that takes skill and a good ear too, which is a lot more than most people have.

Ditto on Jaime and Verner!! See - without the sound guy.. all you'd have is drums that would drown out the acoustic guitar... ?? =) Didn't someone once say that behind every great musician...is a great sound guy?

....okay I just made that up - but it makes sense!!!

Worry not my friend... being an audio engineer (yes that's the techinal name) person takes great skill, and BELIEVE me.. not everyone has an ear for it. I've done a couple studio sessions and it's take a certain person to do it =) You've got a gift man!
